Alapont conducts "Die Lustige Witwe" with La Fundazione Arena di Verona"


December 17 the Fundazione Arena di Verona will stage "Die Lustige Witwe" (The Merry Widow), an operetta in three acts with music by the Austro-Hungarian composer Franz Lehár and a German libretto by Victor Léon and Leo Stein, based on the comedy "L'attaché d'ambassade" by Henri Meilhac. Maestro Alapont will take charge of the musical direction of this new production that will be in place at the Teatro Filarmónico in Verona until December 31st. He will be in charge of the Orchestra and Coro dell'Arena di Verona and a renowned list of singers, among which are Giovanni Romeo (Mirko Zeta), Desirée Racatore / Lucrezia Drei (Valencienne), Enrico Marabelli (Count Danilo), Giorgio Misseri / Francesco Marsiglia (Camille de Rossillon) and Mihaela Marcu / Elisa Balbo (Hanna Glawari). Gino Landi will be responsible for the direction of scene.
