Soprano Joanna Latini, a New Jersey native, is quickly making a name for herself for her informed and passionate performances. Opera News hailed Ms. Latini “a generous performer [with] winning personality and a sound both luscious and supple, exuding charm[.]” Her professional experience ranges from Baroque opera to contemporary new works and musical theatre. She was named a National Semi-Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2018. Last season included the cover of Maria in Houston Grand Opera’s My Favorite Things: Songs from the Sound of Music and cancelled performances of her Metropolitan Opera debut as Servant 2 in Die Frau ohne Schatten. Upcoming seasons will see her debut with Berkshire Opera.

 

Ms. Latini’s 2019-2020 season included her Canadian debut as Musetta in La bohème with Calgary Opera, her debut with Ars Lyrica Houston for their “Handel in Love” program, reprising her Rosina in The Ghosts of Versailles for her European debut at the Chateau de Versailles Spectacles in France, and Adina in L’elisir d’amore with Permian Basin Opera, as well as cancelled performances of Gilda in Rigoletto with Resonance Works Pittsburgh and her role and company debut with the Berkshire Opera Festival as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni
